About the Bokey Board

The BokeyBoard is a US-Patented platform that turns any bicycle with training wheels into a stationary bike.

A couple of years ago, my younger son, who was 3 years old at the time, was struggling to pedal his bicycle and keep up with his big bro. He got so frustrated that he would rather run next to his brother than try to keep up on his bike. So I wanted to make something that would give him the confidence he needed to keep pedaling.

It sounds simple enough – pedal the bike and it goes. But its not always that easy – if you don’t believe me, check out Youtube "Training wheel fails".

Anybody who has tried to teach a child to ride a bike – even with training wheels will experience the same issues.

1. Lower Back Pain from being hunched over.

2. Toes run over

3. Anxiety for oncoming cars. More anxiety for oncoming pedestrians and their furry friends. .

This simple product takes care of all of that. You can work with your child on the one skill that is the key to riding a bicycle.

Gravity is all you need, but if you want to feel more secure, we include straps to keep the bicycle securely attached to the BokeyBoard.

You can use the Bokey board anywhere you have enough space for the bike.

Santa Clause likes to deliver bikes. But if you live in a cooler climate, your little one might not be able to use that bike for 4 months. Now they can get going right away.

Urban areas with crowded sidewalks are tough. You have to get to the park – might as well put in a little practice before heading out there.

But the real opportunity for the BokeyBoard is the long term vision. We have been working with Occupational Therapists to introduce the BokeyBoard as a therapy device for their patients. For children with developmental challenges and Autism Spectrum characteristics, the repetitive motion can help to develop muscle memory functions that can aid in Sensory Integration Training.

We have plans to introduce a version with a resistance component. That resistant component would connect via Bluetooth or WiFi to communicate simple things like speed, time, distance – and ultimately gaming. From there, we will integrate with tablets and televisions to create a new way for children to interface with the device and build a foundation for a lifetime of fitness and mobility.
